Geography of our activities is constantly expanding.
Starting with oil wells support works at Western Siberia, our aircrafts were later directed to the opposite part of the world. In 2004, on request of the Portugal Civil Protection Department, five helicopters have been undertaking forest fire fighting operations on the territory of this EU member state. Despite of intensive and complicated character of operations performed by our flight crews neither aviation incidents nor technical failures occurred and, consequently, we received a lot of favorable comments from the officials and citizens of Portugal.
In 2005 – 2006 Ukrainian helicopters performed forest firefighting operations in Turkey upon a request of the Ministry of Forestry of that country. In different times 3-5 helicopters Mi-8 MTV-1 (Mi – 17-1B) were assigned to the operations. Our helicopters performed work in hard-to-get regions, not reachable by other vehicles. In total crews spent about 720 hours in the air. They managed to save thousands of hectares of green woodlands from destruction and received positive reference concerning successful and effective work of its flight personnel in Turkey.

This humanitarian mission consisted in performing aero-medical/casualty evacuation (MEDEVAC), air transportation of the hard-to-reach mountainous area’s inhabitants and carrying cargo, using external sling load.
This mission was the biggest mission of United Nations World Food Programme that engaged helicopters. Nine of them were provided by our aviation company – it is more than by anyone else among other international operators of rotary-wing aircrafts. Thus, company Ukrainian Helicopters has certified its ability to concentrate considerable amount of aircraft while performing urgent operations in extraordinary circumstances and secure high quality standards while doing this.
